Custom Beveled Mirrors in Baton Rouge & Louisiana
A beveled mirror has angled, polished edges instead of the standard straight cut. Those angled edges catch and bend light, creating a subtle prism effect around the perimeter. It’s an elegant touch that adds depth without needing an actual frame.
We’re the only glass company in the Baton Rouge area with a Bavelloni beveling machine on-site, which means we can create bevels that most of our competitors simply can’t do.
What Beveling Actually Does
Think of a bevel as a built-in frame. Instead of a flat edge that just ends, the glass angles down at the perimeter and is usually between 1/2″ and 2″ wide. When light hits those angles, it refracts and creates a decorative border effect.
The look works in both traditional and modern spaces:
- Traditional homes – The bevel adds formality and craftsmanship
- Contemporary spaces – It’s subtle enough to work with clean, minimal design
- Transitional style – Bridges the gap between old and new perfectly
Where People Use Beveled Mirrors
Bathroom Vanities
The most common application. A beveled edge gives you that finished, upscale look without adding a frame that might clash with your fixtures or tile.
Dining Rooms
Beveled mirrors reflect candlelight beautifully. The prism effect makes the lighting feel warmer and more dimensional.
Entryways
First impression spot. A beveled mirror looks more intentional than a plain one but isn’t as bold as a heavily framed mirror.
Over Dressers
Classic placement. The bevel adds just enough detail to make it feel like a designed piece rather than a basic mirror.
Living Room Feature Walls
Larger installations can use beveled edges to add architectural interest without overwhelming the space.
Commercial Spaces
Lobbies, hotels, restaurants, salons—anywhere you want to project quality and attention to detail.
Furniture & Cabinets
Beveled mirrors as tabletops or cabinet door inserts add a refined touch.
Customization Options
Bevel Width
- 1/2″ – Subtle, works on smaller mirrors
- 1″ – Most popular, noticeable but not overpowering
- 1.5″ – 2″ – Bold statement, best on larger pieces
Shapes
Rectangles, ovals, circles, arches, whatever fits your space. Custom shapes are possible, but they add to the cost and timeline.
Special Effects
- Double bevel – Two beveled edges for extra depth
- Triple bevel – Even more dramatic layering effect
- Antique mirror with bevel – Combines the vintage patina look with beveled edges
- Corner options – Mitered corners (45-degree angle) or rounded
Edge Treatments
If your mirror is large and only has beveling on certain sections, we can polish or seam the non-beveled edges for a clean finish.
Why Our Beveling is Different
We've got a Bavelloni Glass beveling machine, the only one in the Baton Rouge area. That matters because:
- Consistency - The machine creates perfect angles every time. Hand-beveling can be inconsistent.
- Clarity - Our polishing process eliminates cloudiness and scratches.
- Capability - We can do complex bevels that other shops have to outsource or simply can't offer.
- Speed - In-house equipment means faster turnaround.
Most local competitors either don't offer beveling at all, or they send it out to another shop (which adds time and cost).

Common Questions
Can you bevel any mirror?
There are size and thickness limitations, but we can bevel most standard residential and commercial mirrors.
Can you add beveling to an existing mirror?
No. Beveling has to be done during fabrication. If you want to add a bevel, you need a new mirror.
What's the difference between a bevel and a frame?
A bevel is cut into the glass itself. A frame is a separate piece of material (wood, metal, etc.) that goes around the mirror. You can have both, a beveled mirror in a frame.
Does beveling make the mirror weaker?
Not significantly. The beveled edge is still thick enough to maintain structural integrity.
Can you do beveling on antique mirrors?
Yes, and it looks great. The distressed antique finish combined with the crisp beveled edge creates an interesting contrast.
