Beveled mirrors and other glass products provide a soft polished finish to your pieces, taking them from standard to stunning. At M&M Glass, we design and install a variety of custom mirrors in Louisiana for residents in the Baton Rouge, New Orleans, North Shore, and Lafayette communities. And, beveled mirrors are one of our most popular pieces. Here's why you should consider adding them to your home.
Made To Sparkle
Adding mirrors to your home remodel or new home build immediately opens up a space. Mirrors add light, shine, and brilliance to any room. Beyond figuring out the size and shape of your new mirrors, one of the most important decisions you can make is whether to have a flat or beveled edge.
To bevel a mirror, the outer edges are cut at a slant and polished. These edges angle down towards a thinner outer edge. While a mirror is typically ¼ inch thick, the finished edge is somewhat thinner. You can customize the angle and width of the cut section to achieve different looks.
Why bevel a mirror? There are a number of reasons, but most importantly, aesthetics.
With additional angles and a sloping finish, beveled mirrors have more areas to catch and reflect light. It also allows for multiple, interesting reflections from different angles. This depth gives the illusion of a larger space in your bathroom, home office, or vanity area. These edges can even act as prisms to refract light and create rainbow effects.
Beveled edges also create the illusion of frames for your mirrors. If you want to avoid larger frames, a beveled mirror is seamless, finishing off your look with polish and shine.
Finally, beveled mirrors don't have sharp edges. When finished, they have smooth and polished edges that are safer to handle. Your family will be able to enjoy them safely for years to come.
Complete your home's look
Beveled mirrors make for a brilliant addition across your home. Use them:
- In bathrooms, with one large or two paired beveled mirrors, to light up your space
- As polished backsplashes for your bar or home library area
- In large installations for a dramatically light-filled living or dining room
- For the finishing touch for a vanity area in a bathroom or bedroom
- Within framed pieces for an upgraded and elegant look
Our team at M&M Glass designs more than just mirrors. You can choose a beveled edge for your glass:
- Table tops
- Furniture tops
- Cabinet insets
At M&M Glass, we craft both true beveled mirrors, as well as beveled strips. If you want to upgrade an existing mirror, beveled mirror strips are also a great option.

Designed for your style
Once you've decided on a beveled finish, you can create a look that's perfect for your space.
Work with our team at M&M Glass to design the size and shape for your mirror. Some rooms in your home require a large dramatic sweep of glass, while other spaces will benefit from small, expertly-designed details. Beveled mirrors are especially beautiful to add in hard-to-fit places like alcoves or behind a home bar where they can reflect light.
You can also choose your shape. Since we design all of our custom glass pieces, go for a timeless touch with beveled oval mirrors or add rectangular mirrors with a graceful arch finish on top.
With our team, you'll pick the appropriate thickness and width of beveling for your mirrors. Most of our mirrors are ¼ inch at their thickest point, with varying thicknesses for the beveled edge. For width, larger mirrors may have a beveled edge that's 1 1/2 inches wide, while smaller installations are thinner.
You can also:
- Add decorative square corners to your beveled mirrors
- Finish them at a 45° angle for a traditional framed look
- Add cut-outs for wall outlets or lights
- Choose from a variety of antique mirror finishes and textures
The M&M Glass Difference
At M&M Glass, we pride ourselves on creating amazing experiences for all of our customers. Our mirror projects start with a free estimate that clearly details your costs for design and installation. We're ready to explain these different costs and can work with you to find a project that fits your budget. We send all quotes within 24 hours (larger commercial or residential projects may take a bit longer).
Excited to start? Once you approve the estimate, our team gets to work measuring your space and designing your piece. As noted, you'll pick the shape, size, and finish for your beveled mirrors. Our glass experts are always available to help guide your decisions, too.
We craft our mirrors right here in Louisiana. Most of our mirrors are made from ¼ inch tempered glass. We choose tempered glass for the majority of our residential projects because we're committed to safety. If your piece is damaged somehow in the future, tempered glass doesn't break into large and sharp shards. Instead, it breaks into thousands of small pieces that are less dangerous.
For beveled mirrors, the overall installation process only takes a few hours. We ensure your mirrors will hang safely and securely for years to come. After, our team will answer any questions you have and discuss the best ways to clean and care for your mirrors.
When you work with our team, you'll enjoy a one year warranty period on all projects, as well as repairs on our installed projects.
Our team is licensed, bonded, and insured in excess of state requirements (Louisiana State Board of Contractors license #48486). We are also a member of the Baton Rouge Better Business Bureau, Home Builder’s Association of Greater Baton Rouge, Home Builder's Association of Greater New Orleans, Northshore Home Builders Association, Acadian Home Builders Association, the Houma/Terrebonne area’s Southeastern Louisiana’s Home Builders Association and Louisiana’s Home builders Association.
Our other glass services
If you need to upgrade existing mirrors, we also install beveled mirror strips. These glass strips lay directly on top of your mirror and are fixed into place with adhesive for a secure and seamless look. They're especially popular for antique mirrors, where they can cover instances of black spots of mirror rot near the mirror's edge.
If you're looking for even more mirror options, we're ready to help at M&M Glass. We craft the following types of mirrors:
Our custom mirror frame shop is one of the largest in the state. It sets us apart from many competitors as it allows us full control over the quality of your piece from start to finish. Depending on your budget and needs, we offer both stock frames and custom frames.
Beyond mirrors, M&M Glass designs and installs:
- Standard mirrors, framed and frameless
- Shower doors, framed and frameless
- Wine cellars
Our team does not handle windows or automobile glass. Note that we also don't do glass repairs for projects done by other companies.
