J-Mold Mirror Mounts
Often, the last small details of a remodeling project help it feel truly polished and complete. We're talking custom cut-outs for light fixtures. Beveled edges. And, for your one-of-a-kind project, J-mold mirror mounts to professionally finish off the edges of mirrors or large glass pieces. At M&M Glass, we craft custom-made glass designs and accessories for homeowners in the Baton Rouge, New Orleans, North Shore, and Lafayette communities of Louisiana. Here's what you can expect when adding J-mold mirror mounts in your home.
A Custom-Made Finish
Finishing your bathroom or home remodeling project has never been this easy. J-mold mirror mounts are a simple piece of hardware that lends a final, polished touch to mirrors.
This mount is made of a metal channel that adds a distinctive and safe edge to mirrors. Not only decorative, these mounts provide support for the bottom of your mirrors when hanging them.
J-mold mounts hold your piece snugly to the wall, with no portions extending past the width of the mirror. They're perfect for mirrors that fill an entire space, so you can ensure the look is seamless throughout.
At M&M Glass, we craft custom J-mold mounts for any size of the mirror. See our previous installations in our design gallery.
Find your inspiration
You can use J-mold mirror mounts in any area of the home, but they're especially beneficial for:
- Large bathroom mirrors
- Mirrors in small or unique nooks
- Home or commercial gyms
- Dance studios
- Retail spaces, like salons or clothing stores
- Home bars
- Wraparound mirrors
Beyond mirrors, our customers use J-mold mounts to finish off other home remodeling projects, too. We can install them to finish off:
- Wall panels
- Ceiling panels
- Whiteboards, calendars, or other office planning tools
- Large-scale artwork
For many, J-mold mirror mounts are the last detail that makes a glass project truly feel done.
Made for your home
At M&M Glass, our J-mold mounts typically fit mirrors up to 1/4 inch thick. Since they're custom-made, we can also design mounts for thicker mirrors or glass pieces. They are easy to cut to the length of your mirror, or designed to fit mirrors as large as 98 inches long.
Use J-mold mirror mounts with flat polished mirrors. There will be a visible portion of metal—usually 5/8 inch—on the outer edge. This gives the piece a seamless look, dressing up the edges of your mirror. You can add these to the bottom of the mirror only or along all four sides.
If you have mirrors that end in a beveled edge, you can choose an L-bar support. Instead of a visible lip, this type of supporting hardware is flat on the bottom, in the shape of an "L." This allows you to show off your mirror's beautiful beveled edges.
An instant upgrade
If your older mirrors are suffering from desilvering or mirror rot, you can also use J-mold mounts as a quick and budget-friendly upgrade.
Over time, humid environments or harsh cleaning agents can lead to small black spots on the edges of older mirrors. These typically don't spread and may only color the far edges of your piece. Unfortunately, this rot is almost impossible to remove.
In some cases, a mirror mount with a visible lip can effectively hide the rot for years. This saves you the cost of a full mirror replacement if the rest of your piece is in good condition.
The M&M Glass Difference
When you work with M&M Glass, you're working with a family company that's been operating in southern Louisiana for over 30 years.
Since 1984, our team has had the honor of creating dream homes for our community members. It's a responsibility that we don't take lightly. We know you see our pieces every day, so we always provide the highest level of professionalism and care in every project.
That starts at the very beginning of your project, no matter how large or small.
All customers receive free consultations. Expect a quote in 24 hours or less (though this may be slightly longer for commercial or larger unique residential projects). Our quotes clearly detail all of your costs for both design and installation. If you're working within a budget, our team can suggest different configurations at varying price points.

Our team does not handle windows or automobile glass. Note that we also don't do glass repairs for projects done by other companies.
Dedicated to your safety
Once your project is approved, our team handles every step and every measurement for your professional installation. This ensures your new mirror or J-mold mount is fitted perfectly to your space.
When installing J-mold mirror mounts, we attach them to studs in your wall for maximum support. Depending on the size and shape of your mirror, we'll also add other seamless mounting equipment for your safety.
Our mirrors are typically made from ¼ inch tempered glass. If damaged, this type of glass breaks into thousands of small pieces that are less dangerous.
This installation typically only takes a few hours. During that time, our team will treat your home like their own, cleaning up the area once they're done. After, they'll explain how to clean and care for your new mirrors or mirror accessories. You'll enjoy a one year warranty period on all M&M Glass projects, as well as repairs for previously-installed projects.
