These are the types of glass and glass features we offer.
Some aspects of your glass options will come down to your particular situation and location of the project. Laminated glass and tempered glass are commonly referred to as “safety glass.” It is often used in bathrooms and kitchens but can be useful anywhere in the home where traffic may lead to accidents. This type of glass is essential for the safety of everyone in your home. Plus, it satisfies the requirements of current building codes.
For instance, let’s talk about how it works with shower doors. Even with a sturdy frame, the nature of opening and closing a shower door frequently can lead to accidents. This is why we use tempered glass for these types of projects. It’s about four times stronger than traditional glass, but in the unlikely event that it breaks, it will shatter into thousands of small pieces. This makes potential injury minimal in comparison to the damage that can be done with large shards of traditional annealed glass.
Laminated glass is another option that has a variety of safety and security advantages. It is made of two pieces of annealed glass that are laminated together. When broken, this glass typically stays in place. We can help you make the right decision on the types of glass to choose based on your specific project.
There is nothing quite like the sparkle of ultra-clear glass and the way it shines in the sunlight and allows beams of light to pour into a room. It also provides clear lines of sight that are unmatched. When it comes to certain projects, such as wine cellars, shower doors, or kitchen cabinets, this is an appealing choice for many people.
Ultra-clear or low-iron glass eliminates the “green tint” that many of our customers dislike. By reducing the iron content, we create a type of glass that has no tint, providing beautiful colorless clarity. This is the ideal choice when interior design is at the forefront of your mind. The glass will seemingly disappear in order to accentuate other features surrounding it.
Beautiful tinted may be perfect for your next residential or commercial project. Are you trying to restore the original charm of an antique cabinet? Perhaps our amber tint will do the trick. Maybe you’re going with a certain storefront theme that lends itself to specific hues of color. Whatever your reason, we can create beautiful tinted glass.
We offer the following colors for any glass project:
- Honey Wave
- Chestnut RR
- Moonstone RR
- Rose Quartz
- Citrine RR
- Topaz RR

When you picture textured glass, you probably think about privacy as the biggest factor. Whether it’s an office, gym space, or a shower door, this is certainly the best way to achieve a private setting. However, there are many other reasons to consider textured glass.
First, it can be used for light diffusion in areas where you want to limit sunlight. A little texture can go a long way if you’re trying to diminish the effect of direct beams of light. Room dividers in commercial spaces are a great example of this use of textured glass. It can break up direct sunlight to avoid harsh lighting and excessive heat. Of course, some people simply prefer textured glass from a decorative standpoint.
Whatever your reason for choosing textured glass, we have an extensive collection to choose from. From subtle choices that resemble a lattice pattern to decorative outlines of bamboo and water droplets, M&M Glass can create the look you are going for. Take a look at our entire lineup of textured and tinted glass for inspiration.
Glass thickness is another important part of the equation when we are designing your custom glass piece. Our standard thickness for shower doors is 3/8-inch glass. For taller or wider showers, we may recommend ½-inch glass. As always, we'll discuss the benefits of varying thickness to help you make the best choice for your specific project.
Many of our shower doors also come with optional cleaning protection. In this process, an invisible coating is applied to the glass that repels water. This can reduce soap scum, lime scale, and hard water damage. This is one of the best ways to protect your investment and keep it looking brand new for years to come.
